Comments : I was told at check in that this considered a suite but it's not called as such as website showed rooms labeled as a suite as available. Not if this counts as a failure or not. My co-worker was given an actual suite.

Comments : Fantastic suites showing available online at time of check in for length of stay. I asked front desk and was told "an upgrade to a suite isn't possible". I called Platinum line and they confirmed the suite was available and called on my behalf, and then was told by the platinum line that they would give me a suite for the first night but I have to move to the wonderful room the rest (worse than the room I was currently in!). I declined.

Property : Sheraton Hong Kong

Room booked : Deluxe room city view
Room received : (if different than above): Deluxe room harbor view
Award stay :: No
BRG stay : (yes/no) No

Comments : I didn't check to see what was available at time of check in as it was a quick in and out stay for a last minute extension of my stay in HK

Property : W Singapore

Room booked : Wonderful
Room received : (if different than above): Fabulous

Comments : "Away" suites were available at time of check in. Was told away suites are not considered standard suites

Property : Sheraton Singapore
Dates(s) : 5/5-6/2014
Room booked : Deluxe room
Room received : (if different than above): Tower room
Award stay :: No
BRG stay : (yes/no) No
SNA(s) requested : (yes/no) No
Comments : Tower deluxe suite was showing available online at time of check in. Was told at check in the suite wasn't available and when I persisted I was told it wasn't cleaned and not sure when it would be available. Yet they were prepared to sell it...

Property : Sheraton Hong Kong

Room booked : Deluxe room city view
Room received : (if different than above): Deluxe room harbor view
Award stay :: No
BRG stay : (yes/no) No

Comments : Executive suite showing available for stay at time of check-in online. I asked the front desk twice and was told it wasn't actually available for any portion of my stay. I called the platinum line who gave me some babble about not seeing the room availability on their end due to being one day behind me, but that it was available on the night of the 7th however I would need to speak to a hotel manager directly to remedy.

If don't count the Shanghai as an upgrade to a suite, I haven't received a single suite upgrade in any of my last 7 stays of the year!

I am either unlucky or worried that now the only way to get a suite is with SNAs. Lifetime Gold, but with a young child at time my travel is down to 40 nights +/-. At this rate though, not sure I much value the platinum benefits over gold.
Question regarding the W Hong Kong. Did you ask, "are there suites available?" or "are there select standard suites available?"

Also the Sheraton Singapore, is the Tower Deluxe suite above a Select Standard suite? If it is, then they did not fail.
