She said that she couldn't authorize it because of the miles, when I only mentioned to the previous agent (I complained that the SFO direct routing had less miles than my original routing). She must have picked this us from the notes. So I would suggest anyone in a schedule change situation make sure never to mention miles.
No, but I would expect them to route me in a way that would prevent a forced overnight, even if that required another carrier. Which doesn't seem to be the case at AC. I don't think a forced overnight is a reasonable alternative.
AC is notoriously stingy in allowing re routings to get extra miles. Or doing (as they call it) the ''milk run''. If you want more cooperative and non trigger note happy agents (especially if you are aggressive with them) you can't be calling N.A call centres.
