I think they offered reasonable alternatives. I understand the OP wants to maximise their miles, and try the ps, but would you expect AC to route you SFO-NRT-SIN-IST-CDG all in J because a DEN-YUL flight was cancelled? I know my example is an exaggeration, but where's the line?
