Sam, I am in a similar boat. My Gold status is until 31st Oct 2014 but my understanding is that my two annual re-qualification windows for the "50k miles within a year" option are strictly Nov '12 - Oct '13 and Nov '13 - Oct 14 and not a rolling period.
Within the calendar year 2013 I earnt more than 50k miles and yet my status on the website didnt change. When I queried it with ROP here in Singapore I was told that i hadn't met the mileage requirement within Nov '12 to Oct '13.
Not a huge issue for me as I already have travel booked before October that will take me over the 80k in 2 years requirement but agree that its confusing and the website is rubbish...
I also missed my last requalification because this confusing "rolling period" definition.
When I asked ROP where is it stated in the members' handbook that50K within a year means 1 year from validity date, then they said, something to the tune "no need to state, what else can it be".
The confusion caused is absolutely horrifying. As a result of it, I lost a GUP.
