I don't know about cigarettes, but when I've priced liquor at CDG, all one seems to be saving is the local sales tax one would pay at most liquor stores in the USA. Doing an internet search, I've found shops in the USA, that will ship liquor--in some cases you save as much as 40% off the DUTY FREE pricing at CDG (LHR, ZRH also).
Even AA's in flight duty free liquor is cheaper--if they have a discount special, that is even nicer.
