Understand where you're coming from. THAI has managed to make the ROP program even more convoluted with the rolling qualifying periods. In addition, the online statements don't give enough information, in particular acknowledging when you have already re-qualified your elite status for the next period. And now, the once/year mileage expiration problem has become a 4x/year problem.
You must be careful about the answers you get if you inquire about matters like if you are already re-qualified; the matter is confusing to THAI staff also, and apparently they don't have access to the best of information on their displays either.
I am currently ROP Gold, expiring late this year. By my records, I earned enough last year (50K) to re-qualify for two more years. While on the phone with ROP about some other matters recently, I asked about my re-qualification status just to confirm it. In particular, I wanted to make sure I was understanding the changes in the program from last year (with the rolling re-qualifying periods, etc.) At first, I was being told I didn't re-qualify, and needed to get 80K miles for the two year period by later this year. I started questioning her about this, she explained it to me, and it still didn't make sense (because I flew 50 K last year.) She put me on hold, and came back minutes later and told me I
am re-qualified as Gold for 2015-16. The point is, keep records for at least 2 years (they drop off the mileage statement display after 1 year) and be prepared to make your case if something seems wrong. I'm getting in the habit of occasionally collecting screen shots of my credited mileage (detailed earnings) now.
It would be great if THAI added some enhancements to the Mileage Statement function that would display any Gold Upgrades (GUP's) you have "banked" (along with use-by date), and also an acknowledgement to any elite re-qualification that has been achieved.
