Darien-l, I'm a relative newcomer to Flyertalk. I stumbled onto the pudding in May. I started off rounding up soup for $0.59 each. I found a case of pudding after combing about 8 stores looking for the lowest priced Health Choice item.

After that discovery, I used the Grocery Outlet web site to locate all the stores within about 200 miles of me and planned a route to inspect each. I found some pudding at nearly every store. It was funny to see people's reactions. Most were very perplexed seeing me load two & three shopping carts full of chocolate pudding. My standard response when people asked why I was buying all that pudding? A serious look and "Y2K."

When I placed my order with the local owner, his records showed 102 cases were available from the central warehouse. I only ordered 60 because my wife was already a little unhappy with me about this "pudding deal" and the money I'd spent. You have to realize that nearly everyone I told about this back then was skeptical that it would all work out...

As for the photos, I did take several, including one with with me and the pile of 500-mile certificates. When I get a chance, I'll send one in.

Regarding how the miles are counted, that varies based on the company. American doesn't count them towards elite status, other than to count them towards the lifetime million miles.
