It's not a perfect comparison, but, as someone who lives in DC and is in the DF monthly, there are some comparable neighbourhoods, as I stated upthread. One would be pretty hard-pressed to to find trouble in Colonia Roma, Santa Fe, Polanco, or Hipodromo. I am perfectly comfortable riding the metro in either city after consuming far too many beers.
