What's the issue? i carry duty free through security at YYZ after arriving internationally on a regular basis. Can't imagine arriving from the US would be any different as long as it's in the sealed tamperproof plastic bag.

Having to clear security again after arriving from another country before boarding another flight is hardly unusual. LHR and HKG come to mind.
