So in the spirit of figuring out whether AF's initiatives will help them become, as asked by Mr De Juniac to offer the best premium product in the world, it seems that for some competitors, "Suites" (even the fully wallable ones) are already oh-so-last-year!

EY have announced that they will have their first A380 enter service on AUH-LHR (it seems that everyone still send their first A380s to LHR, maybe we are just guine pigs!

). And do they offer suites in F? You, guessed, it the answer is no.
But wait, they offer, in their own language 70 "Business studios" (configured 1-2-1) in J and 9 "First apartments" (configures 1-1) in F! Please don't ask me what "studios" and "apartments" mean in the context of a plane. They may well just be another name for suites or considering that the EY current product is already outstanding (flew it in J with great pleasure in February) they might be a step up on them regardless of the extra PR. Surely, the 1-1 layout, even on the upper deck sounds encouraging so I'll admit I look forward to hearing back about those new "apartments" too!
