When you checked the fare on UA, were you in expert mode to see if P>0? And how far did you get on Travelocity? It's possible they are showing a cached fare that will get bumped up (with a sorry, this fare is no longer available warning) just before asking for payment.

I was able to put in my contact info. Did not go all the way...

I also found the $3xxx fare on google flights, but when linking to UA.com, UA gives me an error.
