I think the published DLT flat-fare from many locations in Bangkok to Pattaya is 1,500 baht. You can use Grab Taxi but you'll have to negotiate the fare with the driver directly. Once you make your request the driver will call you to discuss, and decide on a mutually acceptable fare. I think there may be some tolls, and the 25 baht Grab Taxi surcharge.
I have not used Grab taxi to go to Pattaya but have used them ~ 10 times or so recently and have found the drivers and vehicles to be top notch. They do make a bit extra from Grab Taxi based on your ranking of their services, so that may be why the service is so good?
Mr T's Taxi based in Pattaya is 1000 THB from BKK and I think 1200 from DT Bangkok. I used them last trip from BKK and will again in July, as I will unfortunately arrive after the last bus. I will drive our gf's car back to BKK to pick up the wife since she will be coming about 10 days after me this time.
