Had AA award with AS to LAX and LAX to DUS on airberlin. An agent had previously told me my bag would be checked thru to DUS. When checking in at SEA agent said AS was not oneworld so I would need to pick up bag at LAX. Then check it in with airberlin and then get boarding pass. Is this normal? I THINK the issue is whether Alaska has a baggage agreement with Air Berlin. If they do, then I think you should have been able to check through. That's what I hope to do with Air Canada. I know Alaska has a baggage agreement with Air Canada so I hope it will work......otherwise I am screwed.
