Check out Etihad Airlines with a connection in Abu Dhabi. I did a couple of fare searches asking for the lowest fares with no fee for changes and this airline consistently came up with the lowest. However, there were a number of carriers that charge as little as 150 AUD to make a change in the return flight, and I would think that would be a better deal than paying, say, an extra thousand dollars for a no-fee ticket.
