I know for a while Alaska was not allowing one to check bags through to a final destination if that destination was on a separate ticket. I have read this thread and feel pretty good that the policy currently allows for this. My situation is LAX-PDX on Alaska then PDX to YVR (Canada) on Air Canada. So, the second ticket is international. Any recent data points on this?
