Really? LAN Airlines' oldest plane is the A340. Ten years old and getting retired next year. Avianca has had a complete fleet replacement (save for the couple of Fokker 50s, Philippine Airlines, brand new fleet.
I think there are many many airlines that are not flying what you call antique material.
I know there is economic mileage in both the "old" and "new" models, I am just disagreeing with your claim.
The point I was making is that there are very few airlines that have 'maintain a young fleet' as a specific fleet strategy, outside of the Gulf at some point or another airlines will find themselves operating old aircraft.
