I have had similar experiences as
nacho. I have stayed at several Candlewood Suites properties in the past 2 years. On all but one occasion, I have been upgraded to a Queen 1-bedroom suite.
Staff have been very courteous, professional and helpful Rates were less than $100/night.
Agreed that they do not have breakfast, however, before the 'improvement and standardization' of IHG benefits, platinum members at these two properties (Syracuse, NY airport, and Fort Drum, NY/Watertown, NY) were given a choice of continental breakfasts from the pantry for free and a spin on the wheel at the check-in desk for an additional snack, points or $ 5.00 pantry voucher.
For a short 1 or 2 night stay, I consider them OK.
