thanks, my concern is actually expiry, that is why i chose as programs AA, UA and BA, because as far as i understand if you keep the account active all the miles will keep their validity
on the hotels i can do cc --> HHonors/IHG --> FFP but i suspect the value i would get would be poor
the other options i had in mind to keep miles in 2 buckets (but then discarded) were:
Option1
OW: AAdvantage
*A: KF + credit card accruing to KF
(discarded because of SQ award chart + SQ fuel surcharges + SQ expiration rules)
Option2
OW: BA + credit card accruing to BA
*A: UA
(discarded because BA has fewer partners than AA, higher fuel surcharges, worse earning ratio)
