I'm relocating from KUL to JFK, and I have trouble finding a reasonably priced 1-way flight as they're almost as expensive as a round-trip flight.

I'd like to credit my miles to Aegean for the *A Gold, which was why my search has been centred mostly on Star Alliance flights.

The cheapest flight / price per mile (based on miles crediting to Aegean) I've found so far is:

BKK-JFK (Asiana):
9,165 miles
Credit to Aegean: 7332 miles
$868
$0.1183 per mile

I'm a bit ambivalent about this though as this means I'll have to fly from KUL-BKK, and LCCs like AirAsia aren't worth it as they now fly to DMK instead of BKK (carrying 2 heavy luggages across the city feel daunting to me).

I'm just wondering if you guys have any suggestions for a flight with a lower price per mile?
