This includes:
- Monitoring the gatehouse prior to boarding for over-sized bags or too many carry-on pieces
- Tagging bags, strollers, wheelchairs and other items and carrying them down the Jetway steps
- Assisting with bag stowage in the overhead bins
The test will launch in ATL in mid-May and expand to the remaining locations in June.
I asked two DL agents tonight and they have not heard of such a position. I was not in ATL. Are these positions going to be filled by DL agents or DGS?
This sounds like a DGS position. Why would DL pay someone $20+ per hour do this (high seniority), when DGS could hire someone for $9.00 per hour. It sounds like the wheelchair pushers type position.
I see nothing on the DL employment site for this position. I have a couple of nephews that would love such a job over the summer break. One lives in ATL and the other in DEN.
