Just to be clear, folks, I didn't actually start this as a thread, a post in another thread and replies therein has been separated out by our mod team as I suspect they ended up as OT in the thread it was in. I don't feel super strongly about the issue, everyone has made good points for and against. I just wondered if this was a way for AA to differentiate and maybe help nudge a few passengers to drop a bit more on their ticket at reasonably low cost to AA with more margin than cost.
