My bags have made flights that I've missed. I'd stick with what you have. Saturday is mostly leisure traveler day, so I'd try to get home as early as possible knowing that as a PM you should be very high on the priority list if you run into an IROPS situation.

I'm not familiar with the 753 but have flown plenty of 752s; if the 753 also uses door 2L you might mention your tight connection to the F FA in the hopes that they'll let you deplane first. Also, in that case I'd take a seat at the back of the F cabin.
