As someone who has flown very large dogs, let me tell you, they are wonderful and well behaved. However, if the plane hits bad turbulence, no matter how well behaved the dog is, all bets are off.
It always seems parents with small children in B/F never have them bucked up when the seatbelt sign is on. Having survived pretty serious turbulence in the past, and seen how it throws things about, I pity the day their 3 year old face-plants the bulkhead or God forbid goes airborne. It amazes me the flight attendants don't at least advise them of the possibility...
