Many people, including me have commented the the Southwest FA's are less that scrupulous or consistant about collecting for drinks.

As I have posted previously when I order a drink I usually wait for the FA to ask for payment. I always have either my CC or a coupon ready to provide it when asked. Sometimes if a flight is delayed I will quietly ask the FA if we are late enough for a free drink. As others have noted often the FAs don't collect coupons or credit cards.

Today I had a new twist.

The FA's came through to take drink orders. I ordered a Fat TIre. The same FA came back and delivered my drink. Later she went through the plane and asked everyoine who ordered a drink whether they had a credit card or a coupon. When she got to me I said I had a coupon and reached into my shirt pocket to get it. I got my parking ticket instead. Before I could retrieve the coupon, she said, that was alright, she saw the coupon,. patted me on the shoulder and moved on.

She collected a credit card from the guy across the asile from me.
