Like a few other posters in this thread, I remain unclear exactly what the universe of BULK fares looks like. There are good guides to identifying if you have a BULK fare and how to avoid a BULK fare. But as to how much they are discounted below deep discount fares and how much of them exist in certain markets seems very vague.
I am reminded of the US Supreme Court struggling to define pornography... they ended up saying the best definition was something like "when you see it you know it is pornography". Some how that seems like a decen analogy to this topic (though I am not even sure I know why).
I remain, under the Supreme Court view, ignorant, because I have not had any BULK fare issues. I count myself as lucky.
