Just had the same thing happened to me. Tried to look up the balance online and kept getting an error. Called in and was told card was never activated. Thank goodness I listened to everyone about saving the receipts and packaging. Provided all that info and now have to wait 72 hours (or so they claim) until I hear back from them.
This was on a Vanilla Visa Card (Yellow BowTie Packaging) and purchased at a CVS.
