My understanding from www.bimmerfest.com is that ED does NOT come out of the dealer allocation. I believe that the discount you get is basically coming from the manufacturer not having to give the dealership much of anything on the sale. So the dealership tries to tell you a bunch of bull like it's dangerous, what if you get dinged, blah blah blah. Basically, they are trying to discourage you from doing ED.

I'd love to try ED, but it's not likely in the cards for me. Congrats on being able to do it. Nice TR.
