My sister in law had trouble checking in using the chek-in terminals because in her passport her last name has an umlaut in her name and the ticket did not. She had to check in at the counter. As for customs, it depends on the agent. I would suggest calling AC to see if they can add the hyphenated name to the reservation so it matches the passport and that would prevent potential problems.
