Feb is just after the January peak. Schools and universities start the new academic year in February
NYC-Aust is a long way so its not going to be $99.99

Airlines USA to Australia (most from LAX) are
- United (Star Alliance)
- Qantas (OneWorld Alliance)
- Delta (Skyteam Alliance)
- Virgin Australia
- Hawaiian, via Hawaii
- Air NZ, via AKL (Star Alliance)
- Fiji Airways, via Fiji
- Air Tahiti Nui (last segments on codeshares)

And other via Asia & Middle East
