I happened to pick up the Herald today and saw the picture of JK cleaning his sons car on the back page so was trying to find the wee snippet in the Diary about it....of course I then stumbled across the Cunliffe piece and thought what are the odds!? Someone else wrote in about the same flight and overhearing him. I started reading and thought to myself, I'm finally going to find out what he was talking about. Naturally I slowly felt a sense of familiarity and when I got to the 'cringeworthy' quote, I realised what had happened.
She definitely told him to be quiet though, what's more worse is that he still spoke with a raised voice for at least 15-20 seconds afterwards.
Background
David Cunliffe was on the plane back to AKL and made such a scene for about a minute during the safety video, I couldn't make out what he was going on about but it was enough for the FA to tell him to shut up, it was pretty cringeworthy anyways
