You should be ok there. Exercise the usual amount of caution as you would at home or in any big city, ie be aware of your surroundings and don't carry large amounts of cash and try to look confident.
That area is lively, cinemas bars and cafés along the canal, which means there will be a good number of people around, you shouldn't ever feel isolated or vulnerable. I have a friend who lives close by, I've spent a good deal of time in the area and have never seen any trouble. I like it there as it's out of the centre of city so it feels less touristy.
If you're going within the next few months it remains light until late at night which always makes a place feel safer. Paris is a city that always feels safe to me, and this is by no means a bad area.
