15-hour layover in Narita - What to do around

Hello everyone,

On my way back to ATL on May 24th, I have a 15-hour overnight layover in NRT airport. I arrive in NRT at 7:55 PM and my flight will leave at 11:10 AM the next day. I just called JAL and they said they will be putting me up for a complimentary room in hotel Nikko, since it's an overnight layover. It's my first time to leave an airport in Japan (usually I just stay at the airport) so I do have a couple of questions that I need to ask here:

1. Is there time for me to go around the hotel that night / morning? Somewhere close by that I can visit or eat at? I don't mind taking a cab or a bus but I'm alone and I don't speak the language so I'm a little hesitant.

2. How far is the hotel from the airport? JAL gave me a bus number to take to the hotel but I didn't get to ask how long the ride will be.

3. I'm aware that I'm probably getting all my checked bags since it's an overnight layover but will there be place to store it or do I have to take it to the hotel with me?

4. I'm a US Citizen so I don't believe I need a visa. However, do I need to do anything else before leaving the airport?

Thank you for any help!
