I loved the fact that I could easily walk to and from the Metro (even with luggage) and that the entire Mall was at my disposal (took a 2km morning constitutional around it).
The rooftop area is lovely with great views day and night, but you are correct that the 2 pools are quite small. However, on NYE, I doubt many people will be using them. The gym was large and well equipped and the spa seemed inviting although I didn't use it.
