I am a little confused by the mention of AA on this route, since AA's JFK-NRT service became JFK-HND, and then became no AA direct service from JFK to TYO. I have flown the JAL 777-300 in J several times and would easily pick that direct flight over any connecting AA service. (Y vs SWUs notwithstanding)
