It's a big convention hotel. Personally I'd prefer to be closer to Olympic Park if staying downtown. It's more pleasant and closer to aquarium and coke museum. Art museums aren't downtown.

Buckhead hotels are likely to be more expensive and not so good for museums but quite good for food.
