Just checked in at Candlewood, Clearwater, FL one of what used to be a favourite because of excellent front office staff.
I was checked in by an extremely rude and untrained night auditor who tried to interrogate me thus :
Are you the owner of the business card ?
Are you on holiday or business?
Have you stayed here before?
To the top two questions, I told him the answers are in my profile..
I was in a forgiven mood and
He had my credit card and drivers license.
He then proceeded to charge my credit card for the full amount for 3 nights stay.....TWICE.
He had no clue about credit card been used to guarantee reservation.
I did not argue but decided to talk to a more knowledgeable staff in the morning.
