You didn't give us the time of the Athens flight!

If the Athens flight departs according to the published schedule less than 24 hours after Denver arrives, then the bags can be through checked to Athens. So in other words if she is on BA640 that's fine, not BA634. In the case of BA632 you will either be just outside or just inside the cut off depending on the timetable for the day.

So if she has a scheduled stop in London of more than 24 hours she will need to collect her bags at the T5A main international baggage reclaim area. If the actual operating time makes it more than 24 hours, e.g. there is an irrop to the ATH flight, or DEN arrives 30 minutes early, then that's still ok, it's by the timetabled schedule.
