WN has zippo to say about PRE and who does and does not get it. While technically true of all carriers, it is most certainly true for WN because as a corporate matter, it declined to participate in PRE until its hand was essentially forced.

TSA has advised, at least in media interviews, that the goal of giving people a "taste" with random PRE selection was to get them to sign up. At least the media reports suggest that the random selection process will largely go away.

However, TSA has also advised that it hopes to move 85% of all pax through what amounts to PRE within 2 years. The remaining 15% would receive what is now standard screening, with a very small % of that receiving a secondary.

This will largely be the end of priority lanes with the exception of large stations where the carrier is prepared to absorb the cost of a standard and a PRE priority lane of one kind or another.

On the other hand, if you can get through the checkpoint in 2-3 minutes with your shoes on, who cares what the sign at the front of the line says.
