Just back from 5 glorious day in Tuscany - one of my favourite parts of the world.

Flew in and out of Pisa, which is one of the bigger airports (after Rome and Milan), so Hertz has a decent sized fleet there.

I booked a Group D (sample is Fiat 500L), but got upgraded into the extra long 500L, called the Living in Europe (and MPW in UK), which was decent enough, despite the recalcitrant gearbox (the car was brand new).

On return, I had a quick look around to see what else was parked up. Could not validate all these against the booking classes on Hertz' website, but though it would be of interest to share what I saw:

Group A: Fiat 500 (lots and lots of these)
Group B: Fiat Panda
Group B6: Lancia Ypsilon
Group C: Fiat Punto, Opel Corsa, Ford Fiesta and Citroen C3
Group D: Fiat 500L, Ford Focus
Group D6: Opel Meriva
Group E6: Fiat 500L Living (they had a lot of these)
Group N: Ford Focus Estate
Group J: Opel Insignia Estate
Group F: Citroen C4 Grand Picasso (lot of these, all brand new)
Group G: Audi A4 Avant
Group K: BMW 320d
Group L: Ford Galaxy

There are other groups for these models if you select Automatic rather than manual, and in some cases separate for diesel from petrol.

Fiat Qubo
Hyundai i30 Tourer (the old model, probably 18 month old car - guess, Group N)
Audi A5 Cabrio
One lone BMW 5 Series GT
