Lufthansa has run similar offers before: I recall they had a Christmas theme afternoon coffee in December on my flight to MIA. Flew to LAX last week and they prepared a buffet in the galley. Both times, I was surprised by the number of options and the amount of food that was offered. Especially because they come back after 10 minutes with the pre-arrival snacks. Reminded me of this:
