The document check issue is not a barrier with other carriers. You still OLCI and are checked in, but a BP cannot be issued until your documents are verified at the counter. There is no reason that WN can't do this. You check in at T-24, a printout is issued which specifies that it is not a BP, but it gives you your placement and is exchanged for a BP once your passport is reviewed.

These are simple IT issues and it remains to be seen whether WN has the capacity to acommodate.
