We will earn our silver again this year by flying CE on the longer European flights that earn more points. We did Bucharest in October, and doing Albania in May, and Istanbul in August. We either book in Economy then take a cheap upgrade to Club after it is offered in MMB, or just book a cheap Club flight in a sale. These flights over 2000km earn 160 Tierpoints return, so these three and our other bookings make Silver (with a bit to spare).

Last Year we spent Avios on a honeymoon upgrade from PE to Club to Tokyo and back, but you earn almost as many Avios (by paying for PE as Silver) as it costs.

Most flights are booked 8-12 months ahead.
