My understanding is that the Mono can do 2amps on all 4 ports - at least until you plug in enoughh devices to reach it's 20W limit, then the ports evenly share the amperage output.
Apple devices need proprietary chip/circuitry for them to recharge at top speed, and if they don't see it, they can recharge at a slower speed. Hence, many rechargers use separate Apple vs Other ports. The Anker 40W recharger has managed to build in circuitry that will allow it to recharge at max speed whether there's an Apple device or non-Apple device connected (well...up to 2.4amps max).
