The nicer oceanfront pool villas do have a physically separate living room pavilion with AC.
We are currently staying at the fabulous Conrad but did a tour of Starwood properties 2 days ago in advance of future stays. The only property where any effort was made to show us around rather than simply letting us wander was the Meridien. I will definitely book an ocean view pool villa here in the future. We really love the Conrad but the Meridien room is far bigger and less than half the price. The boutique feel is also delightful.
Love the oceanfront pool villas here. I wish that I didn't have to travel to the other side of the globe for the experience but I'd go back tomorrow even though I was just there in February.
