Suggestions for surviving a 16 hour flight in coach?
I'm blessed because I can sleep on planes. I usually take a melatonin or a prescription sleeping pill--mine has a layer that is supposed to wake you up basically seven hours after you have taken it. So you are not groggy. I find longer flights like trans-Pacific and East Coast to South America and transatlantic to be really a blessing. I'm much more impatient on a three hour flight that's a small plane with no entertainment. Also the passengers on longer flights are all in the same boat so to speak so people in general are nicer about it. I take long flights as an opportunity to unplug--phone doesn't ring, email doesn't work, can just have time to myself to watch silly action movies (Fast and Furious is a favorite on planes. I eat normally. Have lotion, eye mask, pillow, water that I buy ahead of flight, travel and other magazines. Books on Kindle. It passed in the end.
