Wow, it's been a good many years since I had people flirting with me or had much desire to flirt romantically. While traveling in Asia, though, I've gotten a lot of attention for being a Westerner. Numerous times people have sat down next to me on a train and asked right away, in halting English, "Are you an American?" It turns out they're curious about the US and looking to practice their English. I generally make conversation for a while, using it as an opportunity to learn more about their culture myself as well as trying to be a good ambassador for my country while visiting theirs.
