A colleague had a similar offer recently and he told QF that what had attracted him to EK in C was the privacy of the seat and that if they could offer him a seat with the same privacy he would gladly move to QF. They came back and offered him one of those big seats downstairs at the front of the A380 on all sectors from London - Sydney and strangely enough he took it!

Might be worth trying the same line.
