Is that recent? Early last year, booked tickets for my MIL on UA and AC for ORD-YVR-ICN-NRT-ORD and she had *G the whole way, including free baggage allowance both ways. Also upgraded on ICN-NRT, although intro-Asia CPUs are gone now, and also got into the lounge at ICN. Truly a YMMV situation, it seems.
