That seems very low personally. I on a LHR - MAN flight couple months ago that should have left at 17:50, but they cancelled last minute and put me on a 20:20 flight.

I complained to BA due to the miss connection resulting in missing the organised team & client dinner that was organised. They came back and offered me 8,000 (which is much generous than your LH Y flight delay).
