Great hotel...great location, great service
Just finished a week long points stay with the family for Spring Break in Chicago. Booked two rooms, 1 king, the other 2 doubles, requested that they be adjoined at time of reservation and they were at checkin^
Was "upgraded" to exec floor (really don't think the room was an upgrade - just higher floor) and granted access to exec lounge on 2nd floor.
Rooms are fantastic and very spacious for a city hotel. Separate living room, with microwave, sink, and fridge. Comfy beds, and nice bathrooms.
Exec lounge was great, really nice breakfast spead (scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, oatmeal, muffins, fridge stocked (bottled water, coke products), and a awesome latte/cappuccino machine. Good evening spread as well. Breakfast options stayed the same through, only evening option changed.
Lounge was never too crowed during our stay and lots of seating.
I am not normally a guy who comments on staff but this hotel had a great one. Exec lounge personnel were friendly and really went the extra mile. Bellman was VERY helpful and friendly (always got our large party a minivan taxi so we didn't have to take two) and were friendly to my kids. Front desk was very attentive with the details and very professional handling guests.
As for location, you are in the center of it all, magnificent mile, Hancock, lakefront, all right there.
All in all I couldn't recommend this hotel enough, the exec lounge is great and provides a huge value (if you get access) with the one caveat that this is a very kid friendly hotel. If kids bother you, you might want to look elsewhere.
